A sub-divisional level consultative meeting convened by the Mebo MLA and advisor to Arunachal Pradesh CM, Lombo Tayeng, was held at the Motummusup (Community hall) in Pasighat of Arunachal Pradesh with an aim to chalk out future development/welfare schemes and projects to be taken up in 2018-19.

The meeting was attended by East Siang Deputy Commissioner Tamiyo Tatak, Mebo ADC (In-charge) Sangeeta Yirang, DPO Ponung Boring and other heads of offices including teachers-in-charge of various schools, gaon burhas (GBs), senior citizens and PRI leaders.

Dr Milorai  Modi, principal, JNC, Dr Buk Lego, DDSE (retired) and Bodong Yirang, former director, elementary education, graced the occasion as resource persons. Twenty two departments presented various future welfare plans to the authorities concerned in the meeting.

Addressing the participants, Mebo MLA Tayeng, while seeking public cooperation, opined that establishing strong foundation is an important precondition for effective development.

Preliminary steps have to be taken into the account involving people in grass-root level for larger benefit of the areas in true sense. A thorough analysis of what needed and collaborative planning process will help to ensure that the collaboration has a strong and shared sense of purpose, he felt.

Tayeng exhorted the people to continue to function as a partner in development of the area by way of constructive and developmental approaches. The Government was aware of the challenges and difficulties faced by the people. The Government-sponsored programmes and policies are massive and significant but many people especially rural masses and youths were unaware of the welfare schemes due to which they are ignorant of how to avail the benefits.

The media fraternity as communicator has to keep them informed by providing them with in-depth insight on important issues and the development taking place, added the advisor to CM. He asked the officers to be sincere and dedicated while serving the people.

Tayeng also advised the GBs to be always impartial while delivering justice and to refrain from politics. He along with other dignitaries distributed forty four LED TV sets to the GBs under CM’s Information scheme which will enable them to gather knowledge about various developmental and welfare initiatives of both the Central and State Governments.

Deputy Commissioner TamiyoTatak in his deliberation stated that planning is an important part of the growth, development and sustainability of the citizens and place as a whole. Planning suggests a systematic attempt to shape the future linking scientific and technical knowledge to actions in the public domain.

He appealed to the landowners not to claim exorbitant rates for compensation, which may prove as a hurdle in early completion of projects/schemes. “Extend full cooperation to the Government executing agencies considering that the development projects would go a long way in benefiting the people by reducing miseries,” Tatak urged the landowners.
