A special training programme for cops to combat with the possible attempts to create unrest by the miscreants has been started at the Assam Police Headquarters in Guwahati on Wednesday, which will continue till June 22, 2018.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has been providing special training to the cops.

During a telephonic conversation with Northeast Now, Director General of Police (DGP), Kuladhar Saikia, informed that a total of 15 Assam police officials and two officials from each of the Northeastern States, including Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Sikkim and Tripura, have taken part in the training programme.

The State DGP further said, “The basic objective of the training is to investigate crimes and terror flawlessly.”

Assam DGP Kuladhar Saikia also asked the Superintendents of Police in all districts of the State to remain alert to prevent any kind of possible attempts to create unrest by miscreants across the State.

DGP Saikia, Commissioner of Police, Guwahati, Hiren Chandra Nath along with NIA top sleuths were present in the inauguration of the training programme.
