Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Wednesday launched the highway helpline mobile application of Assam Police – Jaatri Mitra – at the conference room of chief minister’s office in Janata Bhawan.
The mobile app, which would be available in both Android and iOS, is designed to provide real time assistance to the citizens while travelling on the highways of the state.
Notably, people will be able to access information on all nearby facilities during travel including medical, vehicle repair, fuel stations, police stations and public utilities with this app.
The mobile app is packed with advanced features like live location tracking and integrates excellently with third party app like Google Maps and Uber for navigation and bookings.
The app would cover 250 police stations, 525 medical points, 628 vehicle repair points, 294 petrol pumps and 756 public utility centres.
The app has been developed by Assam Police in PPP mode.
The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) on its official Twitter handle stated: “CM Shri @ sarbanandsonwal launched the mobile app of @assampolice – ‘Highway Helpline – Jaatri Mitra’ at Janata Bhawan, Guwahati. Citizens travelling on highways can access real-time information on hospitals, police stations & public utilities etc. through the app.”
