Sikkim under-10 football team settled for runner-up position in Bhaichung Bhutia Champions Cup 2019 after a 2-2 draw against Delhi on Tuesday at Vedas International School, Gurgaon.

Bengaluru, who finished two points ahead of Sikkim, was crowned the champions of the league organized by Bhaichung Bhutia Football Schools.

Sikkim goalkeeper Passang Dorjee Lepcha was awarded Golden Glove and Nuingzum Limboo was the highest scorer for Sikkim with five goals in six matches.

Coach Sonam Topden Bhutia said the tournament was basically an exposure trip for the Sikkim youngsters and thanked Bhaichung Bhutia for the support.

“Our players performed exceptionally well and we hope that they have learned many things to take back home from this tournament,” added Bhutia.
