Former Sikkim minister and senior SDF (Sikkim Democratic Front) leader Ran Bahadur Subba has quit the party and joined the ruling SKM (Sikkim Krantikari Morcha) in the state. 

Two more senior SDF leaders – Sonam Dadul Bhutia and Bhaskar Basnett have also joined the SKM. 

Notably, RB Subba was a three-time minister in Sikkim. 

The three senior politicians in the Himalayan state joined the SKM in a ceremony at South Sikkim.

Notably, this jumping of ships by the three former SDF leaders comes just days after Sikkim chief minister PS Tamang had announced that his government will invite the CBI in the state to investigate the allegations of corruption against the previous SDF government. 

“We will invite the CBI to probe the allegations. Corruption of the previous SDF government will be there for everybody to see,” Sikkim CM PS Tamang had said.
