Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang on Monday discussed on the immediate measures needed to be taken to tackle the outbreak of novel coronavirus.
The State government has been working vigilantly and taking all possible measures to prevent any outbreak.
Sikkim, so far, has not reported a single coronavirus positive case so far.
After thorough deliberation, the CM has made various announcements to deal with the current situation.
He appealed the people to take decisions positively and added that Sikkim was fortunate to have not a single case of COVID-19 in the state.
He asked all to take every possible precautionary measure.
Tamang announced that the Sikkim government will notify a complete ban on entry of domestic tourists to Sikkim till April 15 and it will be notified on Tuesday.
He also urged the people of Sikkim to avoid any travel outside the State, unless it was an emergency and unavoidable under any circumstances.
He added that all public places such as cinema halls, casinos, pubs and discotheques, gymnasiums, hotels, schools, colleges and universities will be closed till April 15.
He urged the students to stay in Sikkim and refrain from travelling outside the state, even to their home states.
