The Sikkim government has banned the entry of foreign nationals into the state as a precautionary measure to deal with outbreak of omicron variant of COVID-19.
The restrictions on entry of foreign nationals into Sikkim came into effect from December 1 and will stay in place till December 15.
Even, entry of nationals from neighbouring countries of Bhutan and Nepal into Sikkim have also been banned.
Moreover, issuing of inner line permit (ILP) to foreign nationals has also been stopped following instructions from the Sikkim home department.
