A seven-member delegation of Nari Morcha of Sikkim Krantikari Morcha party has met the chairperson of the National Women’s Commission, Rekha Sharma in New Delhi on Tuesday afternoon.
The delegation was led by Nari Morcha chief convener, Kala Rai and has senior leaders Bhim Kumari Sharma, Pavitra Bhandari, Rupa Mangar, Prerna Darnal, Jamyang Bhutia and Teni Doma Bhutia of Nari Morcha.
A SKM press release informed that the delegation has submitted a memorandum and related video clip to the National Women’s Commission Chairperson on the recent Chief Minister’s remark on the monthly menstrual cycle of women.
The release added that Nari Morcha has already apprised this matter to Sikkim Police and the State Women’s Commission. It is informed that NWC Chairperson has assured Nari Morcha to go deep into the matter to take the action and to give order to the concerned authority to immediately interfere into the matter.
