Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) party has launched new digital campaign ‘Ma Pani Chamling’ on Saturday.

A dedicated website www.mapanichamling.com was launched to solicit people’s suggestions for shaping Sikkim’s future. The ruling party has aimed to directly connect with four lakhs people to take their suggestions through this comprehensive campaign to prepare its manifesto for the upcoming Legislative Assembly and Lok Sabha elections in the State.

The campaign was jointly launched by SDF Spokesperson Bhim Dahal and social media head and Lok Sabha MP Prem Das Rai at SDF Bhawan in Gangtok on Saturday. It is informed that as part of the campaign, the SDF will attempt to engage four lakh people across Sikkim to seek their suggestions which will be reflected in the party’s election manifesto.

On the occasion, Bhim Dahal mentioned that this digital campaign has been launched to take the message of the SDF president Pawan Chamling across the State, country and world as SDF president has accomplished so many remarkable achievements for Sikkim, the country and for human kind and SDF party was very proud of it.

He expressed that with this digital campaign Sikkim and SDF party will also keep a proper place in the developing media world under digital sphere.

He also stated that the initiative has been taken to take the message of the party president on the purpose of the political philosophy, innovative economic and development policies and historic socio-justice of Sikkim to the world. He added that the campaign will go beyond the electoral politics and lead young minds in the innovative world.

Likewise, PD Rai expressed happiness on the launching of a modern digital campaign www.mapanichamling.com to take all great works of SDF government that has been accomplished in last 25 years will available in borderless web world.

He stated that ‘Ma Pani Chamling’ means everyone was empowered in their own way. He added that in line with the party’s philosophy of ‘Janta Raj Ma Jantai Raja’, SDF was organizing the largest participative agenda setting exercise in Sikkim’s history to enable people to set the agenda of the incoming SDF government.

“Our party president, chief minister Pawan Chamling had given the clarion call of ‘Youth First’ and hence we first sought the views of the youth through the ‘MyFirstVote4Chamling’ campaign. We are also going door-to-door with SDF Pariwar campaign to directly understand the opinions of people. We are the only party to put Sikkim & Sikkimese First,” he added.

A press release informed that the campaign is in line with the innovative, tech-savvy and people-centric campaign strategies adopted by the SDF to engage with the people. It will adopt various mediums in order to solicit feedback from the masses.

The party will also seek suggestions from various subject matter experts and specialists through different outreach programmes. A source close to the campaign revealed how the campaign aims to leverage ‘Big Organizing’ strategy, which was adopted by Bernie Sanders in the 2016 Presidential Campaign.
