Marathon Man of Sikkim, Amar Subba bagged the tenth position in the 12 hours (Night) Stadium Run held on May 26 and 27 at Gachibowli Stadium in Hyderabad.

He covered the distance of 87.2 km in 12 hours.

Interestingly, he has been qualified for the upcoming 24 Hours Stadium Challenge to be held on June 16 and 17 in Mumbai.

The event was organized by Bangalore-based Non-Stop Entertainment Business [NEB] Sports where 37 male and seven female ultra runners from different parts of the country participated.

He stood on 5th position in another 12 Hours Stadium Run at Mumbai in 2015 by covering the distance of 95.6 km in 12 hours.

He participated in 12 Hours Stadium Run for the first time at Bangalore in 2014 and covered the distance of 96 km in 12 hours and bagged the third spot.

Then, he stood on the fifth position in another 12 Hours Stadium Run in Mumbai in 2015 by covering the distance of 95.6 km in 12 hours.

Addressing a press conference in Gangtok on Friday, 50-year-old Subba expressed his happiness on finishing the run in top 10 positions.

“Although I have not been able to break my record of 96 km in 12 hours this time, but I am fully satisfied with my performance in the event among best ultra runners of the country. This was another learning experience for me to do better in upcoming competitions,” he said.

He covered 218 rounds of 400 meters during 12 hours to cover the distance of 87.2 km.

“I am happy that I have been qualified for the upcoming 24 Hours Stadium Challenge to be held on June 16 and 17 in Mumbai in Maharashtra. I would prepare hard to give my best to in this competition to keep the name of Sikkim on the top,” Subba said.

He motivated young generation to have patience and discipline and to be consistent to be successful in their respective field. He also thanked all his supporters and well-wishers for their continuous encouraging support.
