India’s most loved stand-up comedian Zakir Khan on June 22 will be in Guwahati to mesmerize people with his brand new stand-up special act.

“I am happy to inform you that I am going to perform in Guwahati again,” Zakir Khan said. This would his fifth performance in Guwahati. “I am sure it will be 5 times more fun,” he said.

Zakir Khan, popular for catchphrases like ‘Sakht Launda’ will be presenting a brand new stand-up special act on June 22 at the ITA auditorium at Machkhowa in Guwahati. In addition to being a stand-up comedian, he is also a writer, presenter and actor.

Born and raised in Indore; Zakir Khan has the ability to highlight comic elements in everyday life. He is known for his ‘uniquely Indian’ style of comedy, which involves him impeccably catching on the emotions that are common to every Indian household.

Khan has a diploma in Sitar and is a college dropout. Besides stand-up comedy artist, he is a ghostwriter, and has produced many entertainment programmes for radio and television.

Zakir Khan is extremely popular amongst the youngsters who are struggling to make it big in India. In 2012, he rose to popularity after winning Comedy Central’s Stand-Up Comedian competition.

His popularity gained in September 2017 when he appeared as a mentor at the fifth season of The Great Indian Laughter Challenge. The competition was judged by Akshay Kumar.

Zakir Khan wrote and played the protagonist in the Amazon Prime web series Chacha Vidhayak Hain Humare. In 2015, he co-hosted and wrote On Air with AIB, a news comedy show on Star World.

Now he is back with a new standup special named Kaksha Gyarvi, which was premiered on Amazon Prime Video on November 23, 2018.

The organizers of Zakir Khan’s show in Guwahati – OML Entertainment Pvt Ltd and Comedy Circuit –are expecting a full house on the occasion as the tickets are selling in huge numbers.

“We are happy to bring Zakir Khan to perform in Guwahati. He is a mass entertainer and we are sure that the people in Guwahati will love his new performance,” Saurabh Abbi, managing partner at OML Entertainment Pvt Ltd, said.

The OML is the organizer of the Northeast region’s largest annual musical extravaganza – Bacardi NH7 Weekender in Meghalaya.

Speaking about Zakir’s show in Guwahati, Pratik Kedia from Comedy Circuit said he is thrilled to bring the nation’s stand-up superstar to Guwahati.

“Zakir is going to perform a brand new act in Guwahati,” Kedia said, adding, “Watch out for our Sakht Launda,” Kedia said. He has been organising comedy shows in East and Northeast India.
