Arunachal Pradesh Chief Secretary Satya Gopal on Friday convened a meeting of commissioners and secretaries at the Civil Secretariat here in connection with Chief Minister Pema Khandu’s Independence Day announcement on constituting a State Selection Board (SSB).
In the meeting, the CS conveyed Khandu’s message that the bedrock for developing any State is putting the right people at the right place. To achieve this, there is a need to have free and fair recruitment process. The State Government has made efforts to bring systemic changes in the recruitment processes that will transform the governance in the State in the years to come.
A Bill will be introduced in the ensuing Assembly Sessions and constitution of SSB will be decided thereafter, Gopal said.
“The State Government is against any kind of illegal, irregular, out-of-turn appointments and to ensure utmost transparency in recruitment and appointments of candidates, it has decided to constitute SSB to fill Group ‘C’ posts,” he said.
The decision of constituting the SSB has been made at the highest level to ensure that only the right, meritorious and deserving candidates are duly appointed by following transparent recruitment procedure, he said. “Now, it is our duty and responsibility to ensure that the decision be implemented in letter and spirit,” he added.
The CS asked the heads of departments concerned to hold recruitment of Group ‘C’ staff which will be made only through the SSB and withdraw all the advertisements published forthwith and wherein admit cards have not been issued.
He appreciated that all the officers are working as Team Arunachal for enabling progress and development of the State and fulfilling the objectives or targets and announcements made in the Budget. “All of us should ensure the resolve of the government and the CM to provide corruption-free and transparent governance is fulfilled,” he said.
