With the creation of Ranikor civil sub-division, the NPP-led Meghalaya Democratic Government (MDA) in Meghalaya is now flooded with demands from various quarters to upgrade their areas into civil sub-division.

An organization from Mawsynram met Deputy Chief Minister, Prestone Tynsong on Friday to impress on the need to upgrade the Mawsynram community and rural development block into a civil sub-division.

Later addressing media persons, All Mawsynram Constituency People’s Conference (AMCPC) president, Gilbert Kharraswai  justified that the Mawsynram community and rural development block was one of the oldest in the State which was created prior the inception of the State.

We strongly feel that the Government should consider the demand for creation of the civil sub-divison in Mawsynram, he said.

According to AMCPC president, the creation of the civil sub-division would bring the administration closer to the people and it would ‘greatly benefit’ the people from Mawsynram especially those residing in the border villages with Bangladesh.

Meanwhile, AMCPC president also impressed upon the government about the condition of the Hatmawdon-Dangar road up to Trongpleng which has not been repaired for the past 20 years.
