In a major boost to improve the post crime event scenario, union home minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday has inaugurated a forensic science lab in Guwahati.

The inauguration took place over video conferencing. At the same time, the home minister also inaugurated another forensic science lab at Bhopal through video conferencing.

Both the forensic science labs are built by National Buildings Construction Corporation (NBCC) India Ltd. at a cost of over Rs 100 crore.

The two Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) complexes at Guwahati and Bhopal are equipped with advance features and will go a long way in providing scientific evidence to police and thus check pendency of cases in our courts.

Speaking on the occasion, NBCC chairman-cum-managing director (CMD) Anoop Kumar Mittal said, “NBCC is proud to be associated with these CFSL projects. We had deployed our best manpower to make these projects an iconic development.”

“Forensic science labs at Bhopal and Guwahati will provide proactive assistance to law enforcement agencies in these states,” Mittal said, adding that the state-of-art facilities will positively help the criminal justice system.
