Bulbs distributed under MMADY in Darrang

More than 2400 consumers under Mangaldai division of APDCL have availed each with four numbers of LED bulbs free of cost under the Mukhya Mantrir Akash Deep Yojana (MMADY) since its launching on Saturday in Darrang district of Assam.

Talking to this reporter Pranjal Kataki, AGM, APDCL, Mangaldai division has informed that public function for distribution of bulbs to genuine consumers under domestic ‘A’ has been going in the district since Saturday with a target to cover maximum number of beneficiaries and on Sunday in one such function in Jaljali Gaon Panchayat in Mangaldai Electrical Sub Division (ESD), altogether 317 numbers of consumers availed the benefits.

“Till date we have covered a total of 1182 consumers in Mangaldai Electrical Sub Division and another 1162 in Sipajhar Sub Division. Bulbs have been distributed for 108 numbers of consumers under Kharupetia Electrical Sub Division of the district too,” Kataki maintained.

AGM Kataki further informed about ceremonial launching of the programme on Saturday in several GPs of the district including Rangamati, Upahupara, Haldha and Bihudiya where several prominent persons like Mangaldai legislator Gurujyoti Das; addditional deputy commissioner, Narnarayan Nath; senior departmental officials including deputy managers of the respective areas Abhijit Barua and Bibhuti Sarma respectively besides himself took part it the launching functions.
