As part of the special outreach campaign – Poshan Abhiyan – an intensive discussion on Low Cost Nutritional Valued Food was organized by Field Outreach Bureau (FOB), Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Dibrugarh at Loharpatty Panchali (Word No. 10) in Dibrugarh recently.

Addressing the gathering, the officials and health workers disseminated the basic information about the importance of nutrition for mother-child and teenagers.

They advised gathering public to be careful of their children’s diets.

One should choose proper food items of nutritious value for physically, mentally and socially healthy of their child, they said.

Pranab Kumar Nath, Field Publicity Officer, spoke about the aims and objectives of the progamme.

He said, many schemes have been introduced by the Central Government for the uplift of public.

“Every individual may avail the benefits of the Central Government schemes and the ‘Poshan Abhiyan’ was launched by the Union Ministry of Women & Child Development to eradicate malnutrition amongst the children,” said Nath.

He also administrated the nutrition pledge to the audience.

The formal awareness open session was presided over by Rina Begum, local Ward Commissioner in presence of key health worker Chitramoni Nath, lady health visitors, Limima Baruah, Parishmita Saikia and Prasanta Saikia.

The awareness programme started with patriotic song and concluded with spot quiz competition and prize distribution.
