Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu ranks second when it comes to the crorepati league of Chief Ministers in India after Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandra Babu Naidu. Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh is the third top crorepati in the list.

This was disclosed in an analysis made by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) & National Election Watch (NEW), an election watchdog.

The organisation made analysis of Chief Ministers from 29 State Assemblies and two Union Territories of India.

Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) & National Election Watch (NEW) have analysed the self-sworn affidavits of current Chief Ministers in State Assemblies and Union Territories across the nation. These are the latest affidavits which were filed by them prior to contesting the elections to the State Assemblies and Union Territories.

The average of assets per Chief Minister from state assemblies and union territories is Rs.16.18 crores.

Of the 31 chief ministers of state assemblies and Union Territories analysed, 25 (81 percent) are crorepatis.  In the crorepati league of Chief Ministers Nara Chandra Babu Naidu has total assets of more than Rs 177.48 crore. Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu has total assets of over Rs 129.57 crore and the third top crorepati Chief Minister Amarinder Singh from Punjab has total assets of over Rs 48.31 crore.

Left front icon and Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar is leading the list of low assets of chief ministers in India with total assets of over Rs 26.83 lakh followed by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee with a total asset of Rs 30.45 lakh and Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti with a value of Rs 55.96 lakh.

Interestingly, of the all 31 Chief Ministers analysed from state assemblies and Union Territories as many as 11 (35 percent) Chief Ministers have declared criminal cases against themselves.

Chief Ministers of Maharashtra, Kerala, Delhi, Jharkhand, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Puducherry, Jammu & Kashmir, Bihar have declared criminal cases in their profile.
