One more arrested in abduction and killing case in Manipur

Imphal: Manipur police arrested an absconder while attempts are on to arrest two other culprits who are still evading the arrest in connection with a case involving abduction killing a man and injuring another.

The police established that a total of 13 gang members including two females were behind this crime.

On Saturday, a police report stated that one more absconding accused had been apprehended in connection with the murder case of a youth in Lilong.

Identified as Md. Achouba (27) of Lilong Kaleikhong in Thoubal district of Manipur, the arrest was made by a joint team of Lilong Police Station and commandos of the Thoubal from the Kaleikhong area of the same district.

With this arrest, the total number of individuals detained concerning the case rises to 11, the report said.

Efforts are ongoing to apprehend other absconding suspects, including Th. Roshan Singh of Heirok Part II Moiranthem Leikai, self-styled convenor of the so-called Periphery Protection Force (PPF), and Md. Boboy alias Hassan of Lilong Mayai Leikai.

Notably, Moinam Md. Tomba and Md. Farid Khan alias Boycha (20), both residents of Keibung Mathak Leikai, Thoubal district were kidnapped on May 15.

Md. Tomba was found dead while Farid Khan sustained severe injuries.
