NRL on Thursday flagged off its first 25 metric tonne premium quality food grade wax consignment to Mumbai.

The state-run Numaligarh Refinery Ltd (NRL) on Thursday flagged off its first 25 metric tonne premium quality food grade wax consignment to Mumbai.

“The first consignment of 25 metric tonnes of NRL’s premium quality food grade wax, ‘Pristine’ launched recently was dispatched on Wednesday from Numaligarh to one of the Company’s distributors in Mumbai,” said an NRL official.

The official said this niche product would be used in the domestic cosmetic, pharmaceutical and FMCG (fast moving consumer products) industries.

“NRL plans to expand its customer base of ‘Pristene’ in the domestic market and international market gradually,” the official added.

Earlier during the week, popular Barasha Rani Bishaya formally signed as the brand ambassador of Pristene.
NRL Senior CGMb (Mktg and BD) Bruno Ekka was the signatory on behalf of the NRL.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had dedicated the NRL’s wax plant to the nation on February 5, 2016.

The 50,000 metric tonne wax plant, commissioned in March 2015 at a cost of Rs 676 crore, is the country’s largest wax producing unit with indigenous technology developed by the Indian Institute of Petroleum — Dehradun, Engineers India Ltd and NRL.
