State government had provided domestic Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) connections to over 9.5 lakh women households across the State under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Scheme(PMUY)
A sum of Rs 128.70 crore has been allocated for providing LPG connections for the remaining BPL families.
Assam Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s 2018, budget also proposed (Aamar Dukan on Wheels) a mobile shopping facility for essential goods (Non-PDS items) in an eco-friendly e-rickshaw.
This scheme will help consumers get their daily requirement of essential commodities at their doorstep at a reasonable price.
The CM also stressed on strengthening the Public Distribution System so that poor and needy will be benefited from welfare schemes.
