A hardcore NDFB (S) rebel was apprehended by Army from Chirang reserve forest near Bhur River on Tuesday.
On Tuesday Army, Chirang Police and 210 Cobra launched a search operation at Chirang reserve forest.
During the search operation in the area, the security personnel spotted the militant who was trying to flee from the area after seeing them.
A factory made pistol and four live rounds of ammunition were recovered from him. The militant has been identified as Pohit Narzary. Preliminary investigation by police has revealed that Pohit Narzary was helping another NDFB (S) militant Batha in his activities.
