Chief Executive Member of NC Hills Autonomous Council Debolal Gorlosa met Joint Secretary (North East), Ministry of Home Affairs, Satyendra Garg, at North Block in New Delhi on Wednesday.
He was accompanied by Haflong legislator B B Hagjer and Executive Member of the Council Samuel Changsan, Chairman Memorandum of Settlement implementation Committee Debojeet Bathari and Executive Member Namrothang Hmar.
They discussed at length about the proposed Bamboo Industrial Park to be set up at Manderdisa of Dima Hasao under Memorandum of Settlement. Garg was very optimistic towards harnessing the potentials of bamboos in the hilly district.
The proposed Bamboo Park will act as an institution by introducing the latest technologies in bamboo processing as well as skill building, employment generation and changing the economic and industrial scenario of the entire Dima Hasao district.
