NAMRUP BIHU

With the Rongali Bihu round the corner, Assam is busy preparing for the most important festival of the state.

Like in other parts of the State, a full-fledged central Rongali Bihu committee was formed in the industrial town of Namrup in eastern Assam’s Dibrugarh district.

At a meeting held at the Brahmaputra Valley Fertilizer Corporation Limited (BVFCL) workers’ union office auditorium on Tuesday, a full-fledged committee to celebrate this year’s Rongali Bihu was held.

The meeting was chaired by noted social worker of the town Suren Gogoi.

The Rongali Bihu celebration committee was formed with Ranjit Baruah as president. Dhruba Saikia and Keshab Sonowal have been elected as the working presidents, while Tileswar Bora is the secretary of the committee and Abani Kumar Gogoi is the finance secretary.
