The second two-day Nagaland Film Festival (NFF) is all set to begin at Capital Convention Centre in Kohima on Thursday.
Organised by Directorate of Information & Public Relations, Nagaland, in collaboration with Film Association of Nagaland, the festival will also have a competitive segment.
Different films from across the Northeast will be in the foray in the competition.
The organizers had invited entries of films for the ‘Competition’ and ‘Non-competition’ sections.
There are two categories – Best Short Fiction (maximum 10 minutes) and Best Short Documentary (maximum 10 minutes).
The winners in each category of the films will be honoured with a cash reward of Rs 50,000.
Each screening will be followed by a question and answer segment with the crew members of the screened film.
Apart from films in competition overall 18 films, including documentaries, short films and feature films will be screened in the two-day festival.
In a tweet, Nagaland filmmaker Sesino Yhoshu said, “A sincere effort by people who love films for people who love films.”

Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio took to his tweeter and extended his best wished to the organisers of the film festival.
“Best wishes to Film Assoc. of Nagaland & @DiprNagaland for the 2nd #NagalandFilmFestival; celebrating films from NE India,” he tweeted.
“As you showcase & celebrate films I hope the fest not only motivate budding talents but also become a vital link in the chain of global film culture & market,” Rio added.

Assamese filmmaker Rima Das’ Village Rockstars and Bulbul Can Sing and Bhaskar Hazarika’s Aamis will also be screened in the festival.
Renowned Bollywood filmmaker Subhash Ghai will be making a special appearance on November 1 at the film festival.
Nicholas Lemtur Kharkonger, Director of Axone and Filmmaker Moji Riba from Arunachal Pradesh will be conducting master-classes during the festival.
Entry to the festival is free.
