A National Socialist Council of Nagaland– Khaplang (NSCN-K) cadre, identified as Captain Chusimu, was shot dead in Sagaing Region on Monday.
In a press statement, the rebel group said that Captain Chusimu was shot dead at point-blank and another person received bullet injuries on leg.
The incident took place at Motawafam village Layshi township in the Naga Hills on the north-west frontier of Myanmar.
The press statement further added that the two were unarmed when the incident occurred.
The NSCN (K) is yet to identify those who carried out the attack on the two members of the outfit.
