The Nagaland government has directed schools located in rural areas to resume the conduct of normal classes for students of Classes I to IV from November 1 by strictly following the Covid-19 SOPs.

In a notification on Friday, the school education department said the schools located in urban areas will resume the conduct of normal classes for students of Classes I to IV only after obtaining approval from the respective District Task Force (DTF).

The department asked all district education officers, senior district education officers and sub-divisional education officers to expedite the collection of applications for resuming of normal classes for students of Classes I to IV in the format prescribed by the respective DTF under their jurisdiction and submit the same to the DTF for necessary action without delay.

The approval orders issued by the respective DTF will be communicated to the schools concerned by the district education officers, senior district education officers and sub-divisional education officers without delay, the department said.

It asked all school heads, both in rural and urban areas, to regularly update the weekly vaccination status of staff at the school monitoring portal https://school.dosenl.in/ and maintain a file containing vaccination certificates or Covid-19 test results of all staff serving under their establishments.

The department also directed district education officers, senior district education officers and sub-divisional education officers to depute supervising officers to conduct surprise checking at schools under their jurisdiction and ensure that the schools comply with the directives.

The supervising officers will submit weekly Inspection reports to [email protected] before 3 pm every Friday, the department added.
