The NSCN-IM has said that the 12-hour ‘Nagalim’ shutdown was a “grand success”.

The NSCN-IM said: “The shutdown call met with a grand success because of the overwhelming support from all over Naga areas including the Naga areas of Arunachal Pradesh and Manipur.”

It added: “It was organized to show our anguish and disappointment for dilly-dally in finalization of the FA (Framework Agreement).”

The NSCN-IM had called for a total closure of shops and business establishments in ‘Nagalim’ for 12 hours with effect from Monday midnight till Tuesday noon.

The shutdown was called in protest against the “Centre’s silence” on the Framework Agreement.

NSCN/GPRN put on record to express sincere gratitude to all the shop owners & business establishments for exhibiting the courage to show solidarity to the FA,” the NSCN-IM said.

It further said: “We are also equally grateful to the Naga people and public for bearing with the inconveniences.”

“The historic Framework Agreement (FA), which was signed on August 3, 2015 between the Government of India (Gol) and the National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN), is yet to see the light of fulfillment as committed by the Gol,” the outfit had earlier said.
