Nagaland U-19 girls scored the lowest total posted by a side in any age-level of cricket (men or women) played under the BCCI. The Kerala girls bundled out Nagaland for just two runs in a Women’s U-19 One Day League and Knockout tournament at JKC College Ground, Guntur on Friday.

The Nagaland girls eclipsed the earlier record of lowest score by Raigarh U-14. In 2014-15 season, Raigarh U-14 were bundled out for six runs against Raipur U-14, in the Chhattisgarh Cricket Association Inter-District U-14 tournament in Raipur. Only opener Menka  managed to get on to the score-sheet while the other run was the result of a wide bowled by Kerala bowler Aleena Surendran.

The Nagaland Cricket Association pleaded for support for their cricketers. In a statement NCA vice president P Bendang Jamir said, “While the huge defeat is definitely a disappointment, our girls need encouragement and support for better performances in future. Limited infrastructure, lack of facilities, absence of human resource in coaching and training and dearth of funds are some of the challenges we have been facing and the NCA has been hoping for assistance from the BCCI for several years. We appeal to the sports lovers to support our cricketers while assuring that the NCA will continue to pursue improvement of the game at all levels.”
