Nagaland on Saturday registered 22 fresh cases of COVID-19, taking the state’s overall tally to 978.
These 22 new cases were out of 216 samples tested on Friday.
Among these new patients, 11 are in Peren, eight in Dimapur and three in Kohima.
All cases are from quarantine centres.
This was informed by state health minister S Pangnyu Phom through his official Twitter handle on Saturday afternoon.

In his briefing on COVID19 status in Nagaland, principal secretary (home) Abhijit Sinha said the total number of positive cases in the state as on Saturday stands at 978.
“All the positive persons are receiving medical care at the designated COVID19 hospitals and COVID-19 Care Centres,” Sinha said.
Further, active surveillance and contact tracing is in progress to prevent further spreading of the infection.
Out of the 978 positive cases, the total active cases are 546, and 432 have recovered.
As per the severity of symptoms, 543 active cases are asymptomatic and 2 active cases are mild and 1 active case is moderate, he said.
Till date, a total of 18,331 samples have been sent for testing through RT-PCR. Results of 17,438 samples have been received.
In addition, a total of 11,998 samples have been sent for testing on Truenat. 11,279 samples have tested negative, and 361 samples have tested positive which have been sent for confirmation by RT-PCR.
A total of 2,918 persons are presently under facility quarantine.
Sinha said: “If you develop any signs and symptoms of cough, fever or difficulty in breathing, contact the state helpline No 1800 345 0019 of the health & family welfare department.”
He also urged the people to follow all the social distancing measures.
