Nagaland on Tuesday reported 94 new Covid-19 cases and 108 recoveries. There was no death due to the virus during the day, the State Health and Family Welfare Department said.

Of the fresh cases, Dimapur recorded 21, Kiphire 6, Kohima 14, Mokokchung 26, Mon 2, Peren 8, Phek 5, Tuensang 5, Wokha 2 and Zunheboto 5.

The department said among the 108 recoveries, Dimapur registered 18, Kohima 41, Mokokchung 23, Mon 3, Peren 2, Phek 10, Tuensang 10 and Wokha 1.

Meanwhile, the Kohima District Task Force (DTF) at a meeting today discussed the modalities and measures to activate the unlock phase 1 from July 1.

The meeting deliberated on the importance of testing and tracing out the actual position on the rise of positive percentage.

Reviewing the status of vaccination, the DTF acknowledged the progress in the district and further encouraged to take up more measures and awareness campaign to sensitise the people and vaccinate all eligible beneficiaries.

In the course of the discussion, the DTF requested all the leaders of the wards to identify the positive patients and strictly adhere to the SOPs of isolation and keep a track of them till their isolation period is over.

To create more awareness on the vaccination progress, the Kohima Chamber of Commerce and Industries told the meeting that it has decided to issue vaccination cards to be pasted at the entrance of the shops indicating that the shopkeeper has been vaccinated.

In another development, Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio called on Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi today to discuss development issues of the State.

“Called on Honourable Defence Minister of India @DefenceMinIndia, Shri @rajnathsingh ji and discussed issues related to development and welfare of the state. I thank him for the concern and constant support extended to Nagaland and its citizens,” Rio tweeted.
