A five-member delegation of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) will visit Mon district in Nagaland today. 

TMC’s Rajya Sabha MP Sushmita Dev is also a part of the party delegation that will visit Nagaland today. 

MPs Prasun Banerjee, Aparupa Poddar, Santanu Sen and Biswajit Deb are the other members of the TMC delegation which will visit the bereaved families in Nagaland. 

The TMC leaders will meet the families of those who died in the firing by security forces at Oting village in Mon district of Nagaland.

“The Trinamool Congress family vows to stand beside the loved ones of the victims amid such difficult times,” the TMC said. 

Earlier on Sunday, West Bengal chief minister and TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee demanded a thorough investigation into the killing of civilians by security forces at Mon district in Nagaland. 

At least 13 labourers were gunned down by personnel of security forces in Nagaland’s Mon district on Saturday evening. 

“Worrisome news from Nagaland. Heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. I pray for the speedy recovery of those who were injured. We must ensure a thorough probe into the incident and ensure that all victims get justice,” Mamata Banerjee had said.
