Nagaland Governor R N Ravi and chief minister Neiphiu Rio on Wednesday extended greetings to the Sumi community on the occasion of Ahuna festival.

Ravi urged the Sumi men, women, elders and youth to continue to spread the message of peace, love and unity within the Naga society and neighbouring states.

He wished Ahuna festival would foster the spirit of oneness amongst all the communities in Nagaland and beyond.

“As Nagas await a dawn of new beginning, Sumis must endeavour to harvest lasting peace in Nagaland and beyond,” he said.

“For an enduring peace, it is imperative for Naga people to spread the message of harmony and oneness towards which the Sumis must play a pivotal role,” he added.

Rio said may the thanksgiving celebration of the season’s harvest bring peace, unity and prosperity to all sections of the people.

“Greetings to the Sumi community of Nagaland on the happy occasion of Ahuna,” he tweeted.
