Nagaland has registered 93 new COVID19 positive cases on Sunday, taking the state’s overall tally to 2,781.

Confirming the detection of the new positive cases, Nagaland health minister S Pangnyu Phom in his latest tweet on the state’s COVID19 status said the new cases have been detected, out of 800 samples tested in the last 24 hours.

“Out of 800 samples tested, 93 new +ve cases have been detected,” Phom tweeted.

The health minister informed that of the new positive cases, 62 have been detected in Dimapur, 20 cases have been reported from Kohima, Peren district has reported 8 cases, 2 cases have been detected in Mon district and 1 case has been reported from Zunheboto.

“Contact tracing is fully put in force & all primary contacts are kept under self isolation to avoid further transmission,” the health minister added.

According to the data prepared by the COVID19 war room, Nagaland, with the new cases, the number of total positive cases in Nagaland has reached 2,781.

Nagaland currently has 1,878 active COVID19 cases.

A total of 839 patients, who were earlier infected by COVID19, have been discharged from various hospitals or Covid Care Centres across Nagaland after they tested negative.

The deadly disease has so far claimed the lives of 7 positive patients in Nagaland.
