Nagaland continues to witness downtrend in daily Covid-19 cases with the State recording 40 positive cases on Monday.  

While no death was reported due to the virus during the day, 81 positive people recovered in different districts. 

The Health and Family Welfare Department said 15 people tested positive in Dimapur, Kohima 3, Mokokchung 14, Mon 2, Peren 3, Phek 1 and Wokha 2. 

Of the 81 recoveries, Dimapur registered 36, Kohima 8, Mokokchung 19, Mon 1, Peren 2, Phek 8, Tuensang 2, Wokha 1 and Zunheboto 4. 

Meanwhile, Mon deputy commissioner Thavaseelan K said there will be a special vaccination drive for shopkeepers, individual traders, vegetable vendors, barbers and saloon personnel of Mon town on at Don Bosco School Mon from 10 am onwards on Tuesday.

In another notification, Thavaseelan said any Covid-19 positive patient who does not have sufficient facilities at home will be required to stay at a government Covid care centre in the district in order to reduce the risk of transmission to other members of the family.  

He issued the order following reports of some Covid-19 patients not maintaining home Isolation guidelines as notified by the government.
