KOHIMA: Different NSCN groups in Nagaland have been banned from carrying weapons during the assembly elections process in the state.
The ban on the NSCN factions in Nagaland has been announced by the Ceasefire Supervisory Board.
There is a need for all factions of NSCN to conform to the essential objective of ensuring a peaceful process and election in the state, an official reportedly said.
The ban on NSCN groups from carrying firearms during the assembly elections in the state will come into effect on February 1.

The ban will continue till March 2 – the date for counting of votes for the Nagaland assembly elections.
Notably, polling for the elections to the 60-member Nagaland legislative assembly will be held in a single phase on February 27.
