Nagaland on Wednesday reported 97 new COVID-19 positive cases in the last 24 hours taking the state’s total tally to 12,747.

Confirming the news of new cases registered in the state, Nagaland health minister S Pangnyu Phom in his Twitter handle said the new cases were reported from four districts.

While Dimapur reported 49 new Covid-19 cases, Kohima reported 46 cases and 1 case each has been reported from Mokokchung and Tuensang.

The Nagaland health minister shared that 4 patients, who were suffering from COVID-19, have recovered from the disease in Kohima.

So far, a total of 12,114 people have recovered from the disease.

Nagaland currently has 347 active COVID-19 cases.

Earlier the Nagaland health minister said: “The present surge in +ve cases is a warning to all of us. The government and the Department is doing all it can to tackle the pandemic effectively like we did it last year.”

Health minister Phom said the COVID-19 is not over yet.

He sought cooperation from the citizens saying that the government alone can’t win the battle against Covid19.

Phom also urged the people to get them vaccinated.

“COVID19 is not over yet and all support and cooperation from our citizens to defeat it is required because Govt. alone can’t win the battle,” health minister Phom tweeted.

“Please get vaccinated if you are eligible and follow COVID-19 SOPs strictly,” he added.
