Meghalaya Assam: Police launch probe into minor's sexual assault case

Bengaluru: A man has been arrested in Bengaluru for sexually assaulting a young woman from Nagaland, police said on Monday. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday near HSR Layout.

According to reports, the victim, a final-year BCA student, was returning home after a party in Koramangala when she accepted a lift from a stranger.

The man, identified as a choreographer, took her to an isolated spot near the truck parking area on Hosur Service Road in the city where he assaulted her.

The woman fought back, leaving visible injuries on the suspect’s face. She managed to send an emergency message to a friend, who alerted others and tracked her location.

The victim was found in a traumatized state and was immediately taken to a hospital, said a police official.

Police formed multiple teams to apprehend the accused, who was eventually arrested from his residence in Adugodi. The investigation is underway, he said.

The victim remains hospitalized, and administration is providing necessary support, said the official.
