Nagaland minister for health and family welfare S Pangyu Phom launched the Covid-19 vaccination drive for children of 15 to 18 years age group at Dimapur district hospital on Monday. 

Informing that Nagaland has received 1,43,000 vaccine doses on Monday, Phom said the vaccines will be distributed to all the districts of the state.  

He appealed to the eligible registered beneficiaries to come forward and take the shots. 

He congratulated the health workers and frontline workers of Dimapur district for achieving more than the targeted figure of vaccination (120% 1st dose and 96% 2nd dose).  

He expressed his appreciation to team Dimapur for the successful vaccination drive.

On the occasion, Pangyu gave away the certificates to the first four beneficiaries who received the doses right after the formal launching. 

Dimapur chief medical officer Dr I Moa Temjen, in his opening remark, said the response to vaccination in Dimapur district has been overwhelming so far.  

He asserted that mortality cases are mostly from those who were not vaccinated and encouraged the citizens to get vaccinated. 

The vaccine launching programme was attended by doctors and other health workers.
