The Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) on Wednesday appealed to every family in the state to come out their homes from 4.50am to 5.40am on April 12 for the family sunrise service in their own compound in view of the lockdown.

The service can be held on the porch, yard, terrace, garden or any place outside the homes and within the compounds, NBCC general secretary Rev. Zelhou Keyho said in a release.

“As public gatherings and worships are suspended, we have come to experience that there is deep longing in our people to seek God for deliverance from our situation,” he said.

Keyho said meaningful message and other creating arrangements, which will be sent soon, are being prepared for the families to have meaningful worship and family time together.

He said the world is reeling under the fear of not knowing what tomorrow will bring as the “events of the week unfold and lead us to the jubiliation of the Resurrection of our Lord”.

The NBCC observed that although the people are tired of the lockdown as it entails many inconveniences, they have adjusted themselves within a short notice.

Keyho hoped that this Sunrise service will bring the people closure to God to experience him in each of the family.

“This is not a ritualistic programme but to proclaim His salvation and proclaim to the world that we are grateful and thankful for the salvation He brought to us,” he added.
