Nagaland chief secretary Temjen Toy lamented that Kiphire district remained at the bottom of the list among the 115 aspirational districts in country as the progress of development works in the district was “not so encouraging”.

Chairing a state-level committee meeting on Kiphire aspirational district in the planning and coordination department at civil secretariat in Kohima on Tuesday, Toy called upon the departments to have good coordination for development of the district, an official release said on Wednesday. He asked the heads of departments and officers, especially in Kiphire district, to tie up with one another and work as a mission and not as a duty.

The chief secretary also directed them to keep updating the records and the indicator.

However, Toy expressed his appreciation to the people of Kiphire district for working hard towards development of their district despite their differences.

Joint secretary and prabhan officer of human resources development ministry, government of India, Sanjay Kumar, gave a power point presentation on aspirational districts at the meeting.
