Nagaland governor P.B. Acharya flagged off the lone woman bike rally by Oneninenla Imsong across Nagaland at Raj Bhavan in Kohima on Wednesday.
The bike ride has been aimed at highlighting the issues for women empowerment.
Before embarking on the ride, Imsong said her passion for riding motorcycle was taking her to all the districts of the state to reach out to the women folk to hear their untold stories and encourage them to stand on their feet.
Imsong also said she would share her part of stories with them.
Commissioner and secretary to the Nagaland governor, Dinesh Kumar, said the lone woman bike rally will capture the imagination of the women of the state and help them in revealing their side of the story.
He acknowledged the progress made towards gender equality in the state but said more needs to be done towards the cause.
