Nagaland Governor PB Acharya, donated Rs. 2 lakh to buy a pick-up truck for the transportation of produce to the market place on Friday.

He visited the newly inaugurated daily organic market at Supermarket (Naga Shopping Arcade).

The governor interacted with representatives of Farmer Producer Organization (FPO) and Development Authority of Nagaland (DAN) at the market place and appreciated FPO for taking the initiative in opening such market.

Acharya appealed to DAN to charge only Rs. 100 per month for at least one year or till they were well established. Stressing on maintaining cleanliness in and around the market, Acharya assured to provide plates, spoons and glasses for daily use in the market so the surrounding was not littered by disposal plates and cups.

The governor also suggested that vendors make cloth bags for customers on minimal charges instead of using plastic bags.

He also suggested that FPO make basic necessary arrangement like a proper seat for all vendors and elevated vegetable stand. He also suggested marking some specific days for different tribes so they could showcase their speciality and attract more customers.

Acharya visited all stalls and bought from almost all the stalls. He also placed the order of 100 wooden plates from a vendor.
