Doyang 4X4 Xcursion is scheduled to be held from November 8 to 10 next at Doyang, Wokha in Nagaland as part of the Amur Falcon Conservation Week and Festival (AFCWF), 2018. Informing this on their Twitter handle, WeTheNagas stated on Sunday, “Doyang 4×4 Xcursion is scheduled to be held from 8th-10th November 2018 at Doyang, Wokha as part of Amur Falcon Conservation Week and Festival (AFCWF) 2018. This will be the first off-road event organised in Wokha district at a professional level.”
The Association of Offroaders Nagaland (AON) is all set to organise a series of back to back off-road trail and challenges for adventure and off-road junkies of North East India. The events scheduled are Doyang 4×4 Xcursion 2018, Offroad Maestro 2018 and Hornbill Offroad Challenge 2018.
AON will organise an Offroad Trail Drive (OTD) and an Offroad Experience (OEx) during the Doyang 4×4 Xcursion between the stretches of abandoned road from stone quarry to the event HQ which is about 7-8 kilometres of offroad drive.
Meanwhile, Nagaland Tourism is gearing up for the first-ever Amur Falcon Conservation Week and Festival which will kick off from November 8 next at Doyang in Wokha district of Nagaland. Christening Nagaland as the ‘Falcon Capital of the World,’ the Tourism Department in its website informed that the festival will become an annual affair from this year to coincide with the “peak migration period and best season for undertaking outdoor activities.”
The Amur Falcon (Falco amurensis) is a small raptor of the falcon family. Over a million of Amur falcons come to Nagaland from Siberia en route to their final destination to Somalia, Kenya and South Africa. These migratory birds have one of the longest migration routes of all birds, doing up to 22,000 km in a year.
