The mortal remains of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan, Maneshwar Basumatary (47), who died during Pulwama attack in Jammu & Kashmir, landed at the Borjhar-based Air Force Station in Guwahati in the evening on Saturday.
The body of the martyr was received at the airport by Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal and state finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in presence a huge gathering.

Chief minister Sonowal and minister Sarma also carried the coffin of the martyred CRPF jawan at the Air Force Station in Borjhar here on Saturday along with others.
The body of the martyr, who hailed from Kalbari village under Tamulpur police station in Baksa district of Assam, was received with national honour.
The mortal remains were later sent to his hometown in a helicopter.
Born on June 1, 1971, the jawan was enlisted in CRPF on August 24, 1994.
Reports claim that on the date of attaining martyrdom, he had completed 24 years, 6 months and 8 days of service.
The mortal remains were taken to Delhi from Srinagar with one attendee F/No. 031516222 CT/GD, Buddhadev Roy, by a military plane (IL-76) and from Delhi to Guwahati by an Indigo flight (No. 6-E-939).
Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal has already announced a sum of Rs 20 lakh ex-gratia to the family of the martyred CRPF jawan Maneshwar Basumatary.
