More than 7.98 lakh voters are there in 39 assembly constituencies in Mizoram according to the draft voter lists published on Monday, an official said.

Tuirial constituency, which witnessed bypoll on October 30 was excluded in the draft voter list and it will be separately published on November 8, Mizoram Chief Electoral Officer P. Jawahar said.

This time again female voters outnumbered their male counterparts by 21,837, he said.

According to the draft roll from all eleven districts published on Monday, altogether there are 7,98,227 voters, of which  3,88,195 are males and 4,10,032 are females, he said.

There are 4,986 service voters, including 70 females, he said.

The draft electoral rolls were prepared for special summary revision of voter lists to include people attaining 18 years of age on January 1, 2022.

Aizawl district with 12 assembly constituencies has the highest number of voters at 2,71,374 followed by Lunglei district at 95,213. There were 6 assembly constituencies in Lunglei district in the southern part of the state.

Hnahthial district, which was created in 2019, has the least electorates at 15.465. There is only one assembly constituency in Hnahthial district.

The last date for filing claim and objection is fixed on November 30.

According to election officials, the final voter list of special summary revision will be published on January 15 next year.
