Mizoram, on Tuesday, logged 347 new COVID-19 cases and six more related deaths. 

Mizoram’s COVID-19 death toll has risen to 552 with six new deaths. 

However, single-day positivity rate dipped to 15.66% compared to 23.40% previous day.  

Mamit district registered the highest number of new cases (96), followed by Aizawl (75).

Among the six new COVID-19 deaths, four have been reported from Champhai and two from Aizawl. 

Mizoram currently has 1720 active COVID-19 cases. 

Notably, Omicron concern has risen in the Northeast after five cases of the variant were detected in Meghalaya on Tuesday evening. 

Of the five Omicron cases detected in Meghalaya, two have no travel history.
