Three more people died of Covid19 infection in the last 24 years in Mizoram, taking the death toll to 386.

On Monday, a total of 249 new positive cases were recorded in Mizoram.

The positivity rate stood at 10.11% on Monday.

While 18 cases were found positive during TrueNAT test, 231 cases were detected during RAgT test.

With these cases, Mizoram has so far registered 112,848 positive cases.

Mizoram currently has a total of 11,633 active Covid19 cases.

Of the total active cases in Mizoram, Aizawl district has 7147 cases, Lunglei – 1018, Siaha – 652, Champhai – 657, Kolasib – 281, Serchhip – 713, Lawngtlai – 488, Mamit – 447, Khawzawl – 45, Hnahthial – 130 and Saitual has 55 active cases.

At least 58 children were among the newly-infected people, officials said.

According to the state Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP), more than 12.22 lakh samples have been tested for COVID-19 so far, of which 2,464 samples were tested on Sunday.

As regard vaccination, the government has administered 11.8 lakh doses to beneficiaries till October 16, of which over 6.9 lakh people have received the first dose and 4.9 lakh people have been fully vaccinated, state immunisation officer Dr. Lalzawmi said.

According to the health bulletin released by the directorate of information & public relations, Mizoram, at 5 am on Sunday, a total of 778 people recovered from the infection.

Of the recoveries, Aizawl district recorded 599,  Champhai-42, Mamit-35, Lunglei-33, Lawngtlai-25, Serchhip-18, Kolasib-15, Khawzawl-6 and Hnahthial district 5 recoveries.

Mizoram’s recovery rate on Sunday stood at 89%.

On Sunday, Mizoram reported 948 positive cases and 2 deaths.
