AIZAWL: Assam Rifles, in coordination with Mizoram police, conducted a joint operation in Zote village near the Myanmar border in Champhai district.

The operation resulted in the seizure of 43 grams of heroin valued at Rs 30.10 lakh, as confirmed by Assam Rifles in a statement.

During the operation, one individual was apprehended for possession of the illegal substance, suspected to have been smuggled from Myanmar.

In a separate incident, Assam Rifles and Mizoram police collaborated in Aizawl, where they seized 325.3 grams of heroin estimated at Rs 2.27 crore.

Three local residents were arrested in connection with this operation.
