AIZAWL: In a significant breakthrough, Assam Rifles, in collaboration with the Mizoram police, seized a substantial quantity of heroin worth a staggering Rs 37.75 crores.

The operation, conducted on Wednesday (March 06), led to the recovery of approximately 5394 grams of heroin in Melbuk Road Junction area at Zokhawthar in Champhai district of Mizoram.

Alongside the seizure, law enforcement authorities apprehended an individual in connection with the illicit drug trade.

The arrested individual has been identified as 27-year-old V Valramchuanwmawia, hailing from Champhai district of Mizoram.
