The Lunglei Battalion of Assam Rifles of 23 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarter Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) on Wednesday used a JCB to clear a landslide-hit road in Mizoram.

The Lunglei Battalion of Assam Rifles used the JCB for clearance of a road in Zochachua village in Mizoram’s Lawngtlai district on Wednesday.

The road of the main gate of Zochachua village was badly damaged due to heavy rains for which the villagers were having trouble moving in and out of the village.

They also could not go to their fields.

The locals expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the assistance of Assam Rifles in their day-to-day life amidst the Covid19 lockdown.

The Assam Rifles on August 22 also assisted the locals of Pokhpur village in Nagaland’s Kiphire district to remove multiple road blockades caused due to heavy landslides thereby ensuring availability of road connectivity to remote areas.

On Tuesday, the Lunglei Battalion of Assam Rifles conducted a lecture on the theme – Save Water Save Earth –  at Tuipang village in Mizoram’s Lunglei district as part of an awareness campaign on water conservation.
